The US leader and the newly elected president will meet in the Oval Office on Wednesday, November 13.
US President Joe Biden will meet with President-elect Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday, November 13. The White House press service announced this on Saturday, November 9.
“At the invitation of President Biden, President Biden and President-elect Trump will meet in the Oval Office on Wednesday at 11:00 am,” the statement said.
The White House said it would provide more details about the meeting as time went on.
A post-election meeting between the outgoing president and the incoming president is traditional. But Trump did not invite Biden to such a meeting after he lost the 2020 election.
We remind you that on November 6, Biden called Trump on the phone and congratulated him on his election victory. The US President noted the need for a peaceful transfer of power and assured that he would do so.
Trump accepted Biden’s invitation to meet at the White House to discuss the transition of power.
