Chips manufactured in Western countries were found in the Russian S-70 Okhotnik UAV.
Such an enemy drone was shot down on October 5 near Konstantinovka, Donetsk region. The examination showed that to create this drone, Russia, despite sanctions, used components manufactured by Western companies. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported this on Telegram.
Microelectronics and other technological components produced by Analog Devices, Texas Instruments and Xilinx-AMD (USA), Infineon Technologies (Germany) and STMicroelectronics (Switzerland) were found in the Hunter.
Military intelligence noted that Russia had four prototypes of the S-70 UAV. The cost of such a “Hunter” is about 15 million dollars. This drone, in particular, is a carrier of UMPB D-30 aerial bombs, which are dropped by the invaders to destroy the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine.
Let us recall that Bloomberg reported that in 2023, the Russian Federation imported chips from the USA and Europe worth over $1 billion. In total, more than half of the semiconductors and integrated circuits imported into the Russian Federation in the first nine months of 2023 were manufactured by American and European companies.
