On November 8, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft state budget for 2025 for consideration in the second reading.
The government’s priority remains unchanged – defense, defense capability and security of Ukraine. Officials proposed to allocate 2 trillion for these needs. 225 billion UAH. The Cabinet of Ministers claims that all taxpayer funds will be used exclusively to provide security and defense forces and to manufacture and purchase new weapons, UAVs and equipment. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced this on Telegram.
In addition, the priorities of the current government will remain social spheres, education and medicine.
State budget expenditures for the second reading were increased by UAH 50 billion. Of this amount, it is proposed to allocate an additional 24 billion UAH for education – 12 billion UAH for additional payments to teachers and another 12 billion UAH for investment projects in the educational sector.
They want to allocate an additional 6.3 billion UAH to medicine. Another additional 5 billion UAH. propose to allocate funds in support of war veterans.
The budget for next year does not provide for funding for the road fund, but it is proposed to allocate UAH 12.6 billion for the repair of areas “important for the defense and functioning of the state’s economy.”
The government also provided for the further operation of the Recovery program and its full financing.
Let us recall that on October 31, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with the votes of 247 people’s representatives, adopted the draft state budget for 2025 in the first reading.
