Washington is consulting with allies and partners on an appropriate response to the involvement of North Korean troops in the war in Ukraine.

The United States and its allies and partners continue to discuss the “appropriate response” to the deployment of North Korean troops near the Ukrainian border. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said this in a briefing on Thursday, November 7.

“We are consulting with our allies and partners on the appropriate response to the deployment of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region and their potential participation in hostilities,” he said.

At the same time, Miller said that “he cannot yet make official announcements on any specific decision.” He added that “the response to the Russian aggression is not the only response of the United States.” Therefore, for this purpose, “a whole coalition uniting fifty countries” was formed.

“On behalf of the United States, we will continue to support Ukraine, we will continue to support them on the battlefield, and we will work to maintain the alliance that we have built,” Miller said.

In addition, the State Department spokesperson said that the United States has also expressed concern to China about the increased contact between Russia and the DPRK.

We remind you that recently the first military clash between Ukrainian fighters and the North Korean military took place on the territory of the Kursk region. And on Thursday, President Vladimir Zelensky announced the first defeats among North Korean soldiers.
