A source from the Russian parliament says Trump is considered “more negotiable” for Russia than other American politicians.
At the same time, the Kremlin is skeptical about Trump’s idea to end the war “within 24 hours,” suggesting that it only means a sharp cessation of aid to Ukraine.
While some representatives of the Russian media, such as TV propagandist Yevgeny Popov, expressed fear that Trump might offer Russia a deal with Ukraine that would not meet Moscow’s interests. If Moscow refuses, Popov suggests that Trump may take steps to increase aid to Ukraine.
Representatives of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Dmitry Novikov and Andrey Isaev also stated on Russian television channels that they have no illusions about the US policy, because in the first term of Trump Russia is subject to sanctions and other restrictions.
