Almost half of the states in the country have now voted. To win, candidates must receive the votes of 270 of the 538 electors.
Kamala Harris’ campaign headquarters predicts that the winner of the US presidential election will be announced within days. However, after this, the trial will begin which will last for a week. CNN reported this on Tuesday, November 5.
“We’re in for a month of legal hell,” a Harris campaign adviser told the publication.
The candidate’s team has already told donors that the margin of error races will increase the likelihood of lawsuits with “four to six weeks of everybody suing everybody.”
Harris campaign outside counsel Dana Remus said the campaign has lawyers around the country who will challenge the results of the vote count, recount and audit.
“Elections are decided by the American people, and there is no way to overturn those results. Our institutions, particularly the Supreme Court, will not allow that,” Remus said this week.
Trump won more than half of the 270 votes needed to win, Fox News reports. The network projects him with 178 votes and Harris with 113 votes.
CBS reports that Trump continues to lead in the swing state of Wisconsin with 57.9%.
Donald Trump’s advisers are calling on him to declare victory in the US presidential election ahead of schedule. They intend to do so if he confidently leads Kamala Harris in key states.
Note that Harris won in “shaky” states, but the situation may change.
