In Chechnya, after an attack on a National Guard convoy, mass detentions of men took place to send them to war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Memorial Human Rights Center.
Unknown people shot at a National Guard truck on October 24 near the village of Petropavlovsk, Grozny district. Two days later, on October 26, according to human rights activists, in the villages neighboring the village, Rogvardiya officers together with police officers conducted raids: they checked the documents of local residents and the presence of unregistered persons in their houses.
If security forces found any violations or data on visits to opposition channels, then men who were suitable for being sent to the war against Ukraine were taken to police departments. Allegedly, the detainees were offered to either go to the front or become involved in a criminal case.
In the Old Industrial Department, for example, there are 20 detainees. According to human rights activists, they have received hundreds of reports about detained residents of Chechnya. .
Security forces first came to his home in the city of Argun on October 31. He lives with his 82-year-old mother and two minor children. On November 2, police officers returned and took him to the police station, but his mother left with him. She refused to leave the station without her son, so they were released, but they asked Batyrov to come to the police the next day. The man did not come the next day, as a result of which the police detained him.
