    In Ukraine, 1,179 cultural heritage sites have already been damaged due to Russian aggression.

    .

    This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

    It is noted that in October 2024, 10 cultural heritage monuments were damaged.

    A total of 1,179 facilities have been damaged and destroyed since the start of the full-scale invasion. Of these, 120 are of national importance, 990 are local, and 69 have just been discovered,” the department said.

    To date, cultural monuments have been damaged in 18 regions and Kyiv, in particular:

    • in Kharkov region – 316;
    • in Donetsk – 163;
    • in Kherson – 157;
    • in Odessa – 116;
    • in the Kyiv region and Kyiv – 81;
    • in Chernigovskaya – 65;
    • in Lvovskaya – 60;
    • in Zaporozhye – 53;
    • in Nikolaevskaya and Dnepropetrovskaya – 41 each;
    • in Lugansk – 31;
    • in Sumskaya – 29;
    • in Khmelnitsky – 10;
    • in Poltava – 6;
    • in Vinnitsa and Zhytomyr regions – 4;
    • in Kirovograd and Cherkasy regions – 1.

    By the end of October 2024, almost the entire territory of Lugansk and significant parts of the territories of Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Kherson regions are still under temporary occupation. This makes it impossible to calculate the exact number of damaged cultural heritage monuments that were damaged during hostilities and occupation, the department notes.
