The aggressor country Russia is now launching about 10 times more drones of the type than in the fall of 2023.
The President of Ukraine announced this following a meeting of the Headquarters, at which, in particular, the issue of fully combating kamikaze drones was discussed. The head of state published a corresponding message on November 4 on Telegram.
At Headquarters the President heard a report and… O. Air Force Commander Anatoly Krivonozhko on the fight against Russian air targets. They talked about strengthening air defense in the regions most in need, developing new solutions in the fight against CABs and strengthening mobile fire groups.
The president was also informed about the production of Ukrainian weapons, ammunition, equipment, electronic warfare equipment and drones. We discussed the results of contracting for the current year and planning for the next.
In addition, contracts for a period of three and five years are at stake, which the authorities offer to Ukrainian manufacturers of strategic UAVs. We came to the conclusion that we need a long horizon of planning, development and investment for manufacturers.
And the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, reported on the use of such long-range drones, determining priorities, and planning operations.
Let us remind you that in two months of autumn, Russia launched 3 thousand 239 drones of the “Shahed” type across Ukraine. During September, the Russian army used 1,331 Shahed UAVs against Ukraine, which is approximately 44 drones per day. And in October, the aggressor attacked Ukraine with 1 thousand 908 “Shaheds”. This is approximately 62 drones per day.
