Four Ukrainians injured by explosives have found employment with the international organization The Halo Trust.
Veterans and disabled people will have the opportunity to find work in the field of mine clearance in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense announced this on Saturday, November 2.
It is indicated that the corresponding initiative was discussed at a seminar in Kyiv with the support of Sweden. So, during the event, the head of the mine action department, Colonel Oleg Shuvarsky, noted the introduction of policies of equal access to work, the creation of special training programs and the provision of comfortable working conditions for all categories of workers.
There are already first results. In particular, four Ukrainians who were injured by explosive objects found work at the international organization The Halo Trust.
“They will analyze images from satellites and UAVs to identify and map mine-contaminated areas, the Ukrainians received a job offer a month after completing the relevant course involving people with disability at work in the mine,” the message said.
In addition, seminar participants became familiar with the practical aspects of “organizing jobs for people with disabilities in the field of mine action.”
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported what part of the territory was cleared of mines. Initially, the area of occupied territories possibly contaminated with explosive objects in Ukraine was estimated at 174 thousand sq. km.
