Ukraine and Belgium will produce missiles to shoot down drones.
The Ukrainian defense enterprise signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Belgian company Thales Belgium. The Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine German Smetanin announced this on November 2 in Telegram.
The agreement stipulates that the Belgian company, together with a Ukrainian plant, will produce missiles to counter enemy drones. In the future, this cooperation may expand, and Thales Belgium will provide Ukraine with the technology for the production of these missiles and spare parts for them.
Smetanin emphasized that this cooperation will strengthen the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and the protection of critical infrastructure from Russian UAVs.
Thank you to Thales for expanding cooperation with Ukrainian defense companies and for supporting the defense capability of our state, the minister noted.
Let us recall that in September it became known that the military-industrial complex of Ukraine resumed the production of 5.45×39 and 5.56×45 mm cartridges for the defense forces. Experts suggest that, most likely, cartridges are produced in Ukraine and cartridges are made from ready-made components.
