In Ukraine today, November 1, there are no grounds for introducing electricity consumption limitation schedules for the population.
This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo, commenting on the appearance in the media of information about the likely application of hourly shutdown schedules in Ukraine as early as next week.
A decrease in air temperature at the beginning of next week is indeed expected to lead to an increase in energy consumption. But whether the use of shutdowns (in particular, for household consumers) will be useful in this case can only be predicted by NEC Ukrenergo, which has not yet provided forecasts on the use of restriction measures, the company notes.
It is noted that Ukrenergo, together with the Ministry of Energy, OVA and energy companies, is doing everything possible to prevent the application of consumption restrictions.
We ask citizens to trust only official sources of information, and experts and officials of energy companies to refrain from comments that go beyond their competence, Ukrenergo notes.
Let us remind you that Vladimir Velichko, a member of the supervisory board of Centrenergo, said that due to the cold weather in Ukraine, power outage schedules may soon resume. Subsequently, Centerenergo denied this statement, saying that this was Velichko’s personal opinion and did not reflect the position of the company.
