These two countries have the right to independently decide how to develop their relations, Beijing believes.
Chinese authorities do not see any threat from the fact that Russia and North Korea are deepening cooperation, including in the military field. Chinese Foreign Ministry Speaker Lin Jian said this in a briefing, he said Ukrinform on Friday, November 1st.
“Russia and North Korea are two independent and sovereign states, so the development of their bilateral relations is exclusively the business of these two countries,” Lin said, commenting on the information about the threat of growing Russian- Ukrainian due to the presence of North Korean troops on Russian territory.
At the same time, he repeated the assertion that China does not know the details of bilateral exchange and cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, and also mentioned Beijing’s unchanging views on ways to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
“China’s position on solving the “Ukrainian crisis” (as the PRC calls the Russian Federation’s genocidal war against Ukraine, – ed.) remains unchanged and committed to rapid de-escalation and political settlement of differences,” the diplomat added.
Previously, the Chinese Foreign Ministry did not comment on the DPRK’s military presence in Russia. During the briefing, reporters approached Lin Jian about this issue three times to no avail.
