An American magazine analyzed the opportunity to get married online, which is provided by the Ukrainian government application.
The American publication Time recognized the Ukrainian digital services application Diya as one of the best inventions of the year. This recognition was brought to Diya by the online Marriage function that was launched last fall. This is stated in the material of the magazine.
Since September, citizens of Ukraine can get married in an unusual way: through the national application Diya, which has more than 20 million users.
“The system is simple, although not romantic: one partner proposes through an application, and a notification is sent to the other. If the other party answers “yes” within 14 days, they agree on the date of the wedding in a video call with an official representative on the Webex platform,” the journalists explained.
Time magazine’s Best Inventions list annually highlights 200 innovative solutions that are changing the world, making it better, more convenient, safer and more fun.
The feature is designed to help the many Ukrainian couples physically separated by the Russian invasion to move on with their lives. More than 1.1 million Ukrainians proposed in the first month of its appearance, and during this time 435 couples got married, the material says.
The Diya application already has more than 21 million users
