Flooding in Spain led to nearly a hundred deaths. Dozens of people are missing. This was reported by the Spanish publication El Pais.
The country’s authorities confirmed that at 19.00 the number of dead was 92 in Valencia, one in the province of Malaga and two in Castilla-La Mancha.
The Minister of Territorial Policy, Angel Victor Torres, declared three days of mourning, and also said that the government would declare the territory “very affected” and promised to provide “all the necessary assistance” from state funds and Europe.
“The government has declared three days of official mourning: October 31, November 1 and 2,” Torres said.
The Ministry of Defense mobilized aviation, military psychologists and trained dogs to search for the bodies of the dead.
He added that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will visit flood-affected areas of the autonomous community of Valencia on Thursday.
