The restrictions affected more than 400 people and organizations involved in providing Russia with advanced technology and equipment to support its military machine.
The US government has imposed sanctions against several hundred individuals and organizations in various countries that are contributing to Russia’s war against Ukraine. The US Treasury announced this on Wednesday, October 30.
“Today, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against 275 individuals and entities involved in providing Russia with advanced technologies and equipment it desperately needs to support its war machine,” the statement said.
These actions are said to target individuals and large sanctions evasion networks in 17 jurisdictions, including India, China, Switzerland, Thailand and Turkey.
The sanctions also target more than 150 Russian defense and related material, technology, manufacturing and aerospace companies that buy or produce finished military products, or key components, precursors and equipment that provide -allow Russia to create or maintain the weapons it is using against Ukraine.
In particular, the US Treasury imposed sanctions against 14 organizations and nine individuals, mainly based in Turkey, that contributed to the purchase of modern weapons, equipment and ammunition for the Russian Federation, against a Turkish company associated with GRU – New Way Group Global Danismanlik Ticaret Limited Sirketi, against a number of logistics companies from Turkey.
Sanctions were also imposed against Chinese nationals and executives of Sinno Electronics, a longtime supplier of microelectronics to Russian defense contracting companies.
In addition, OFAC is now sanctioning several companies registered in Hong Kong and associated with Sinno Electronics.
In addition to the aforementioned electronics suppliers, OFAC also designated Polar Bear Electronics Co., Limited (Polar Bear), a company registered in Hong Kong that acts as a financial intermediary between Chips Resources and a Russian entity designated by the US
Russian companies and businesses associated with the military-industrial complex, design offices and research institutions are subject to sanctions. The list includes LLCs Aeromax, Unmanned technology of MordoviaSTC Arsenal, Laboratory of Russian Air Transportand also Moscow Aviation InstituteOOO Organic technologies and printed electronicsOOO Technical special kit, OOO ShintoMIG Elektro Company, Yaroslavl drone manufacturer LLC Horizon-Hammer AeroOOO Astro AeroOOO Engineering and aviation service centerr, AND Cordiant and others.
Let’s remember that, according to media reports, thousands of European companies and entrepreneurs use various loopholes through third countries and subsidiaries to enter the Russian market.
