In the Ternopil region, police caught a group of DEPOT workers dumping fuel from diesel locomotives. The press service of the National Police reported this on Monday, October 28.
Five members of the group – drivers, assistant driver of the diesel locomotive and the workshop foreman – were declared suspicious. During the searches, about 2,600 liters of diesel fuel were seized from the businessmen.
Employees of the state railway carrier drained fuel from the locomotives at predetermined locations.
The attackers illegally pumped fuel into the cans and then threw them away as the locomotive moved to a pre-agreed location. Subsequently, the canisters were taken to storage areas, where the fuel was poured into barrels and sold to the residents of the region, and the funds were distributed among themselves.
At the scene of the arrest, police recovered 19 cans containing nearly 600 liters of stolen diesel fuel.
In addition, law enforcement officials seized more than 2,000 liters of diesel fuel, dozens of empty cans, drainage products, money and “rough” notes.
Suspects can face up to eight years in prison with the denial of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.
Let us remind you that law enforcement officials detained an official of Ukrzaliznytsia, who demanded a bribe in the amount of 10 million Hryvnia.
Earlier, in one of the support centers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov region, the theft of 5 tons of fuel was exposed.
