A UN volunteer was exposed as working for Russian intelligence services.
In the Donetsk region, the SBU detained an FSB agent. He turned out to be a 34-year-old local volunteer of the UN World Food Program recruited by the occupiers. The traitor spied on the locations of the Defense Forces in the Pokrovsky direction, where the highest concentration of enemy attacks was recorded. This was reported on October 28 by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The attacker had to identify the locations of Ukrainian infantry and artillery holding defenses near the regional center. To search for coordinates, he traveled around the regional center and nearby settlements under the guise of delivering humanitarian aid to local residents.
The enemy used the intelligence to plan new attacks on Pokrovsk using guided bombs and FPV drones.
The SBU said that the spy was exposed at the initial stage of his intelligence activity. The detainee has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us remind you that the other day the SBU counterintelligence detained another Russian agent in the Donetsk region. The attacker helped the invaders prepare military operations to break through the defenses of Mirnograd in the Pokrovsky direction.
