The Russians could partially cordon off Selidovo using their usual tactics to force the defenders to retreat, as had happened at Vugledar.

Russian troops advanced to the village of Vishnevoye in the direction of Pokrovsky. Therefore, there is a risk that Selidov is partially surrounded. This was reported by Forbes analyst David Ax.

The analyst emphasized that Pokrovsk is an important target for the enemy, as it is the southern border of the “fortified belt” south of Slavyansk.

In August, Russian troops advanced from Avdeevka to Ukrainian Pokrovsk. For support, the Ukrainian command attracted brigades from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular KaraDag, which immediately arrived in Pokrovsk and took part in the battles for Selidovo.

The 2,000-strong brigade now faces a much larger Russian force that has committed war crimes. In particular, on October 6, Russian troops captured Selidovo, where they killed four soldiers of the brigade.

The Russians could partially cordon off Selidovo using their usual tactics to force the defenders to retreat, as had happened at Vugledar. Pokrovsk remains the main target of the Russians, as it is the “southern anchor” of the system of defensive fortifications.

It was previously reported that in the city of Selidovo, Donetsk region, Russian invaders shot a civilian vehicle with civilians. An investigation has been launched.

We remind you that hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers from four brigades are trying to hold a weak position south of Pokrovsk and the city of Selidovo, despite the threat of being surrounded.
