State inspectors for environmental protection of the Polesie district found that the body of a lion from the Rivne Zoological Park was transferred to the Kostopol branch of the State Enterprise Ukrvetsanzavod, which is engaged in disposal.
The body of a lion was found on the territory of a plant in the Rivne region, which became the subject of a police investigation. The environmental inspectorate is investigating the causes of the animal’s death. This was reported by the press service of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Polesie District on Sunday, October 27.
“Eco-inspectors responded to information about the death of a lion in the Rivne region and are taking measures to clarify the circumstances,” the message emphasized.
Polesie district state environmental protection inspectors discovered that the body of a lion from the Rivne Zoological Park was transferred to the Kostopol branch of the State Enterprise Ukrvetsanzavod, which is engaged in the disposal and processing of animal waste for further disposal .
“At the time of the inspection of the enterprise, the animal was disposed of in accordance with an agreement between the Kostopol branch of the State Enterprise Ukrvetsanzavod and the Rivne Zoological Park of national importance in Rivne,” the press service said.
The department added that currently, within the scope of its competence, all the necessary measures are being taken to determine the causes of the animal’s death, the relevant requests have been sent and all the circumstances will be studied.
