In the Cherkasy region, a man liable for military service was sentenced to 3 years in prison for avoiding conscription for military service during mobilization. The press service of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Sunday, October 27.
It has been proven in court that a resident of the city of Uman, who is eligible for military service due to health reasons, does not have grounds for exemption or deferment from conscription for military service, correctly informed about criminal liability and guided by his reluctance to be called to serve in the ranks. The Armed Forces of Ukraine did not come to the Uman regional territorial center for recruitment and social support in June 2024.
In addition, he did not report the reasons for his absence, thereby avoiding conscription for military service during the mobilization for a special period.
The man was sentenced to three years in prison.
