The first official data from the Georgian Central Election Commission after counting votes from 70.91% of the precincts show that the leading Georgian Dream party gets 52.99% of the votes, and the four main opposition blocs in total is receiving just over 38% of the votes.
According to the head of the Central Election Commission, after calculating the data from 2206 polling stations (70.91% of the total), we are talking about the following results:
Georgian Dream – 52.99%;
Coalition for Change – Gvaramia, Melia, Gorchi, Droa – 11.2%;
Unity (National Movement, Agmashenebeli Strategy, European Georgia) – 9.83%;
Strong Georgia (Lelo, For the People, Freedom Square, Citizens) – 9.02%;
Gakharia – for Georgia – 8.22%;
Gorchi (Ego Khvichiya) – 3.22%;
Alliance of Patriots / Alt-info – 2.53%;
Labor Party 0.75%.
The first exit polls released after polling stations closed in Georgia show mixed results. Exit polls commissioned by the party in power show a victory for the pro-government Georgian Dream, and polls commissioned by opposition forces show that Georgian Dream is losing elections, and opposition parties gets a majority of seats in parliament.
