The focus is on barrier-freeness and the organization of temporary living spaces for elderly and mobility-impaired internally displaced persons.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, together with partners, has allocated $20 million to local organizations to support displaced Ukrainians, including vulnerable categories of the population. This was reported by the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
It was noted that the focus is on barrier-freeness and the arrangement of temporary living spaces for the elderly and disabled who are internally displaced.
According to the coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine, the UN humanitarian coordinator Matthias Schmale, proposals are expected from organizations that are already working and have experience, but need additional funds to implement their current projects or want to expand their activities.
Shmale added that international organizations will continue to support displaced Ukrainians. Particular attention will be paid to supporting vulnerable categories of the population.
