Negotiations on peace in the Middle East are scheduled for October 25 in Doha with the participation of Israeli officials, while Qatari officials met with representatives of Hamas.
Washington is open to “various options” for ending the war in Gaza and Lebanon. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this on Thursday, October 24, at a briefing in Qatar, Radio Liberty reports.
He emphasized that such options are being discussed now.
“Going back to the ceasefire and hostage negotiations, one of the things we’re doing is looking at if there are different options that we can,” he said.
He did not disclose other details.
It should be noted that on August 24, negotiations on a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas took place in Cairo. The US says they are productive.
It was previously reported that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is traveling to Israel and other countries in the Middle East to discuss ways to achieve peace in the region.
We remind you that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the “expansion of conflict in the Middle East” and called for a ceasefire. This happened against the backdrop of a massive Iranian missile attack on Israel, organized by Tehran in response to Israel’s operation against the Lebanese Hezbollah. Guterres was declared persona non grata in Israel.
