SBU counterintelligence detained another Russian agent in the Donetsk region.
The attacker helped the invaders prepare military operations to break through the defenses of Mirnograd in the Pokrovsky direction. To do this, the defendant walked around the city and its surroundings, where he secretly recorded the locations of fortified areas and firing positions of the Defense Forces units. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The enemy agent turned out to be a 25-year-old local unemployed man who was recruited remotely by Russian military intelligence. He sent the received intelligence data to another traitor fighting in the ranks of the Russian Guard on the eastern front. He also transmitted geolocations of power facilities that supply light to the Pokrovsky district.
The spotter has already been detained. His mobile phone was confiscated red-handed for intelligence and subversive activities in favor of Russia.
Investigators informed the attacker about the suspicion of Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us remind you that the day before the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 17-year-old and a 21-year-old resident of Kyiv, who was operating in the Kyiv and Chernigov regions. The attackers tried to identify the combat positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ radar stations protecting the airspace of the capital region and the Chernihiv region.
