Residents of Kherson are forced to take out “food loans” – GUR

Retailers at grocery or hardware stores in the occupied city sell goods on loan at 10-20%.

In occupied Kherson, the situation is deteriorating. City residents were forced to switch to “natural exchange” and take out “food loans”, heads of municipal institutions were forced to cooperate, and occupiers were collecting information about voters. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Problems in the financial sector of the temporarily occupied Kherson led to the return of barter in local shops. That is, goods are sold in exchange for other goods. In this case, the seller each time separately talks to the buyer about the “rate” of such an exchange. Many cases of “grocery loan” have been recorded, when grocery or hardware store sellers sell goods on loan at 10-20%.

Also in Kherson, cases of kidnapping of former heads of community institutions and organizations, central managers (heads of departments and directors of departments) of local executive authorities have become more frequent. This is due to attempts by the occupation administration to “encourage” them to cooperate with the occupiers and return to their previous place of employment in order to continue the work of the respective organization or service.

In addition, approximately 20 boxes of materials about voters living in Kherson were taken from institutions that keep records of voters during election campaigns. This is related to another attempt to hold the so -called “referendum”. According to the new regulations, it could take place in the first half of September.

Recall that the advanced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are located about one kilometer from the suburbs of Kherson. The battles for the city will be heavy, as the Ukrainian military lacks the Western missile system.
