On Thursday, October 24, the Khmelnytsky region was attacked by enemy Shahed-type UAVs. Eight drones were destroyed by air defense. As a result of the attack, a residential apartment building was damaged. The fire was extinguished by rescuers who are now dismantling the structures. The head of the Khmelnitsky regional military administration, Sergei Tyurin, reported this on Telegram.
Also, due to the Shahed raid, the roof of the hotel and non-residential premises were damaged. And the blast wave damaged the windows in one of the region’s libraries. One person received minor injuries.
The mayor of Starokonstantinov, Nikolai Melnichuk, announced four casualties. Two had to be hospitalized.
Let us recall that on the night of October 24, 2024, Russia attacked Ukraine with 50 Shahed-type attack UAVs and drones of an unidentified type, which were launched in the directions of Orel, Kursk and Crimea. Air defense operated in Odessa, Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk, Vinnitsa, Zhitomir, Khmelnitsky, Cherkassy, Kirovograd, Kyiv, Poltava and Chernigov regions. Damage to 40 Russian drones is known.
