The Russian army committed a new war crime in Donbass.
The occupiers killed four captured soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine near Selidove. On October 6, these military personnel carried out service and combat missions at positions in the city area. On the same day, the invaders began an assault on the fortifications, during which they captured the guards. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on October 24 on Telegram.
Next, representatives of the Russian Armed Forces recorded the interrogation of wounded unarmed National Guardsmen on video.
The next day, the Ukrainian military returned the lost positions and, during search operations, discovered the bodies of the killed guardsmen.
A pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings has been launched into violation of the laws and customs of war, coupled with premeditated murder – Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Office of the Prosecutor General recalled that the murder of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime.
Let us remind you that on October 21 it became known that the Russian military shot two captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Selidovoy Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region.
