The beating of the Russian attack UAV Shahed-136 occurred with rare small arms.
During one of the attacks on the territory of Ukraine, mobile fire groups of the 17th Poltava Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine successfully destroyed an enemy Shahed 136/131 drone. The brigade reported this on Facebook.
The defense continues continuously, and units of the National Guard of Ukraine continue to ensure the safety of civilians, the military noted.
Meanwhile, OSINT analysts believe that the enemy drone was shot down using a rare Maxim 1910 machine gun.
As you know, the Maxim 1910 machine gun is one of the most famous models of heavy machine gun, which was used in many wars throughout the twentieth century. This small weapon was developed by British engineer Hiram Maxim in the 1880s. However, its modification in 1910 gained particular popularity in the Russian Empire and the USSR.
The Maxim’s caliber is 7.62 mm and is capable of firing 600 rounds per minute. This machine gun remained in service with some armies until the mid-20th century.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian soldiers of the 47th separate mechanized brigade shot down the Russian Shahed with small arms. The drone detonated and did not reach the target. Thus, another tragedy was avoided.
