The brother of one of the detained teenagers went to war against Ukraine this spring, sources said.
In Russia’s Irkutsk region, three teenagers have been charged with a terrorist attack for attempting to set fire to two Tu-22M bombers. This was reported by the Baza Telegram channel on Wednesday, October 23.
The teenagers were said to have been arrested on September 18, but this was only revealed today.
“According to the investigators, 17-year-old Tamerlan Kh., 15-year-old Zakhar Sh and 17-year-old Ivan N. planned to enter a military airport in the Usolsky district and set fire to two Tu-22M aircraft,” the report said.
The teenagers are in pre-trial detention. Under the terrorism article, they can be imprisoned for up to 20 years.
The brother of one of the detainees is said to have gone to war against Ukraine in the spring of this year.
Let’s recall that in September the FSB detained six Russians on suspicion of involvement in the arson of railways and communication infrastructure, allegedly on instructions from the Ukrainian special services. Then one of the detainees said that he received the task of “burning the plane.”
It was also reported that in the Russian city of Noyabrsk in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, two teenagers set fire to an Mi-8 helicopter. They were detained.
