The Central MSEC is planned to be liquidated by the end of the week. Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said at a press conference on October 23 that he had already fired the leadership of the central MSEC and the heads of the relevant department of the Ministry of Health, which is responsible for coordinating the activities of the commissions.
Before this, the government instructed the Ministry of Health to collect all documents in order to complete the reform of the liquidation of the department and introduce a new model.
According to Lyashko, there are now more than 350 MSECs operating in Ukraine. He believes that MSEC managers should not continue to hold leadership positions in other hospitals.
Earlier, the head of Kamin, Denis Shmigal, said that the medical and social expert commission would be replaced with a new European model.
According to him, it will be digital and completely transparent. To do this, before November 1, the Minister of Health must submit all the necessary regulatory documents and bills for this purpose for consideration by the government.
The President of Ukraine, after a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, issued a decree on the liquidation of medical and social expert commissions from December 31, 2024. The document also provides for changes to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which would define the head and MSEC as subjects of criminal liability for illicit enrichment.
