Training for Russian commands could mean plans to use these units in the same formation as the Russians and under Russian command.
North Korean soldiers now in the Russian Federation and preparing for combat operations are undergoing additional combat training. Its contents were reported on Tuesday, October 22 by Defense Express, citing its own sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It was mentioned that we are talking about joint weapons training, and the North Korean military is also trained by Russian orders, holds agreements, and is introduced to Russian weapons and military equipment. From this, the publication draws several additional conclusions.
“First, the level of actual training of the DPRK military was recognized by Russian commanders as requiring basic training, even despite the fact that the DPRK sent special operations forces, as reported by South Korean intelligence,” the publication noted.
It was also noted that the study of Russian orders and their implementation may indicate plans to use these units in both Russian formations and under Russian command.
This contradicts the scenario in which a conditional “expeditionary corps” will be formed from DPRK troops, to which the corresponding section of the front will be allocated while maintaining the internal hierarchy and without reassignment.
The publication added that, according to South Korean intelligence, the first military personnel from the DPRK were brought to the Russian Federation on October 8. At the same time, they should be at the front, and the first place of their deployment, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of MOU, Kursk Region, must be before November 1. That is, the entire course of additional training for North Korean military personnel in the Russian Federation can last up to three weeks.
Also, sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU mentioned that we are only talking about the transfer of manpower from the DPRK, without its own equipment and weapons. So, we are talking about a real trade in “cannon fodder”, which risks becoming a systematic and solving one of Russia’s problems – the lack of manpower.
We remind you that according to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, the first North Korean soldiers will arrive in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation to take part in the war against Ukraine on Wednesday, October 23.
A video has surfaced of North Korean soldiers equipped with Russian equipment.
