The territorial integrity of Ukraine, the inviolability of its borders and the entire sovereignty of the country remain unchanged.
Ukraine is ready to discuss possible adjustments to the peace formula, but only those that support the territorial integrity and full sovereignty of the country. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak wrote about this on Tuesday, October 22, in his column for the Finnish publication Hufvudstadsbladet.
“We are ready to discuss any options for the adjustment of our proposal, provided that they comply with international law and support the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the inviolability of its borders and the entire sovereignty of the country, as a victim of aggression, will not accept any changes that threaten its existence, its right to self-determination or human dignity of the Ukrainian people,” Ermak wrote.
He spoke about Finland’s role in the Russian-Ukrainian war, the creation of a platform for environmental damage assessment in Ukraine, its role in many other issues, including its efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.
Against the backdrop of the conference on economic security in Helsinki, which took place this weekend, Ermak emphasized that Russia should be held accountable for the ecocide in Ukraine. First, however, “we must win and create the conditions for peace.”
In particular, thanks to the progress achieved since the first peace summit in Switzerland, Ukraine is ready to agree on a peace framework at the second meeting.
“At the summit, we want to build peace not only for Ukraine, but also for the entire international community, for the benefit of all our people,” Ermak’s publication said.
He noted that although the peace formula establishes the main principles of peace in Ukraine, all states should actively participate in the development of the agreement framework. Ermak added that the implementation of these principles can and should be carried out on the basis of consensus, adapt and supplement.
Ermak also said that a series of ten thematic conferences on each of the points of the peace formula of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will end at the end of October.
After that, thanks to the diplomatic efforts of countries “around the world, we will be ready to show the international community and Russia a concrete path to a just, strong and sustainable peace.”
Earlier, the media reported that the West was considering changing its policy towards Ukraine. A new decision on the issue of supporting Kyiv may be a commitment to Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
