There are hundreds of cases of clearly unjustified disability in customs officials, tax officials, in the Pension Fund system, and in local administrations.
President Vladimir Zelensky, in a speech on Tuesday, October 22, announced the results of a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, which reviewed many facts of violations by medical and social expert commissions.
According to the president, there are hundreds of cases of clearly unjustified disabilities in customs officials, tax officials, in the Pension Fund system, and in local administrations. And he emphasized that they should be thoroughly investigated.
Also, according to him, there should be personal responsibility and personnel decisions due to this situation in the central authorities – in vertical control in MSEC.
“There was a report to the National Security and Defense Council by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Malysh, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Klymenko, about ongoing tests and investigations, unfortunately, very unconvincing ones report from the Minister of Health of Ukraine and the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine separately, it is necessary to go through all horizons of local authorities,” he told Zelensky.
The problem also lies in the difficulties people with actual disabilities face when trying to obtain appropriate status and benefits. In this regard, an audit of pensions and other payments to all officials who organized false disabilities is planned.
Zelensky emphasized the need for complete digitalization of the disability determination process and the elimination of MSEC in their current form in order to eliminate corrupt practices and ensure fair recognition of disability for those who really need it, especially that the veterans of the battle.
Following the meeting, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin submitted his resignation, which became one of the main personnel changes related to the situation in the prosecutor’s office.
We remind you that Zelensky held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, where they reviewed the situation at MSEC and abuses by officials of various government bodies resulting in disability. At the meeting, a list of decisions was identified to “restore justice.” The President has approved them through the corresponding order.
Subsequently, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin decided to resign from his position amid scandals related to abuses in the field of disability registration for prosecutors.
