Businessmen helped draft dodgers avoid conscription due to forged documents, and the cost of their services ranged from 6 to 10 thousand dollars.
Organizers of anti-mobilization plans were detained in Kyiv and Vinnytsia region. Among them were a lawyer and a VVK official, as well as a fraudster posing as a Ukrainian volunteer. The SBU reported this on October 22.
It was mentioned that for money, businessmen helped draft dodgers avoid conscription due to forged documents, and the value of their services ranged from 6 to 10 thousand dollars. The cost depends on the urgency and type of procedure.
In Kyiv, a 32-year-old citizen of Ukraine was exposed, who offered a fake job in one of the volunteer formations of the Ukrainian military.
To negotiate with potential conscripts, the man involved introduced himself as a military man, although he had nothing to do with the Defense Forces. After receiving the money, he planned to disappear without fulfilling his promises to continue finding new clients.
The defendant was detained in a cafe in the capital, where he was given money for fake enlistment in the ranks of the volunteer battalion.
And in the Vinnytsia region, a lawyer and a member of the local military medical commission were exposed, selling fabricated certificates of unfitness for service due to health reasons.
In both cases, all three detainees were charged with suspicion under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
-
blocking the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations
-
illegal movement of people across the state border of Ukraine, committed by an organized group or for mercenary reasons
-
accepting an offer, promise, or receiving an improper benefit by an official
-
official forgery
The defendants face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of assets.
We remind you that law enforcement officials eliminated another corruption scheme for preventing mobilization in Kropyvnytskyi.
It was also reported that two doctors who created a profitable “business” among draft dodgers were exposed in the Odessa psychiatric hospital.
