Over the past week, evidence has been mounting that the DPRK has sent its regular troops to the Russian Federation for further use in Ukraine.
The United States is investigating reports of a possible transfer of North Korean military personnel to Russia with a view to possibly involving them in a war against Ukraine. White House Advisor John Kirby said this on Monday, October 21, Voice of America wrote.
According to Kirby, the confirmation of North Korea’s military participation on the side of Russia in the war against Ukraine could mean a dangerous development.
“We certainly continue to look at these reports, we are also discussing it with our allies. If it is true that DPRK soldiers are traveling there to join the war against Ukraine, it certainly represents a dangerous and very worrying that progress.” a US administration official.
He noted that the United States will make a statement on this in the coming days.
Kirby also emphasized that if the information is confirmed, it would indicate how desperate Russian dictator Putin is, and how the level of isolation around his regime is growing so much that he is forced to turn to the DPRK for help.
“I think what it all shows is that Putin is becoming increasingly reckless and increasingly isolated on the world stage,” Kirby said.
Biden’s adviser noted that recently the Russians are losing more than 1.2 thousand military personnel killed and wounded on the battlefield every day. And this, according to him, is a lot.
“And all this is to implement a disfigured and perverted idea that denies the right of Ukraine to exist as a sovereign state,” the representative of the White House emphasized.
Earlier, a South Korean satellite recorded the movement of North Korean troops on Russian territory: there were 1,500 special forces soldiers in Vladivostok.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Budanov, says that about 11 thousand North Korean infantrymen are undergoing combat training in eastern Russia. They will be sent to the front in November.
