One of the two power lines connecting the nuclear power plant to Ukraine’s unified energy grid was shut down due to Russian shelling.
The temporarily occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is again on the verge of blackout due to Russian shelling. The Ministry of Energy announced this on Monday, October 21.
It was indicated that at 12:18, due to the systematic shelling of the enemy, one of the two power lines connecting the nuclear power plant to the unified energy system of Ukraine was turned off. Currently, the station is powered by only one power line.
“The provision of external power to the station, which is necessary for safe operation, is again under threat. If the station is disconnected from external power, another complete blackout will occur at the Zaporozhye NPP, creating radiation safety threat.” said the message.
The department assured that power engineers will do everything to resume the power supply line of Zaporizhzhya NPP, as the security situation allows.
We remind you that on October 1, a similar situation arose at Zaporizhzhya NPP. Then it took more than a day to resume operation of the power line.
And on Friday it was reported that the occupied city of Zaporozhye nuclear workers Energodar was left without electricity due to the accident.
