Dmitry Peskov recalled that Russia has a “sovereign right” to develop relations in all sectors, and especially with North Korea.
Moscow does not deny information about the transfer of military personnel from North Korea to Russia for the subsequent war in Ukraine, but calls it “contradictory.” Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov said this at a briefing on Monday, October 21.
“We see a lot of conflicting information, the South Koreans say something, then the Pentagon says that they have no confirmation of such statements, therefore there is a lot of conflicting information. Perhaps, this is how it should be treated,” he said.
According to Peskov, Russia has a “sovereign right” to develop relations in all sectors, and especially with North Korea, which is “our close neighbor, our partner.”
“This should not cause any concern to anyone, as this cooperation is not directed against third countries, we will further develop this cooperation,” the Kremlin representative added.
We remind you that today the South Korean Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian Ambassador in Seoul, Georgy Zinoviev, to the carpet in protest against the sending of North Korean troops to the Russian Federation for deployment in Ukraine.
Earlier, a South Korean satellite recorded the movement of North Korean troops on Russian territory: there were 1,500 special forces soldiers in Vladivostok.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Budanov, says that about 11 thousand North Korean infantrymen are undergoing combat training in eastern Russia. They will be sent to the front in November.
