The Netherlands will purchase modern reconnaissance and surveillance drones from DeltaQuad for 42.6 million euros, to then transfer them to Ukraine.
The department noted that this purchase will be the first concrete step towards the implementation of the Drones Action Plan, which was recently announced by Minister Ruben Brekelmans during his visit to Ukraine.
The Dutch company DeltaQuad will supply “advanced drones” Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) to Ukraine.
ISR drones, as reconnaissance drones, can fly for long periods of time and over long distances. They are used to obtain real-time information from the battlefield, intelligence gathering and surveillance, the Dutch Ministry of Defense says.
The department added, “for security reasons, information about the type of drones, quantity and delivery schedule is not disclosed.
