The Ukrainian victory plan and assistance were discussed by the leaders of the United States, Great Britain, Germany and France.
US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met in Berlin on October 18. The leaders condemned Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine and discussed their plans to provide Ukraine with additional security, economic and humanitarian assistance, including the use of emergency proceeds from frozen Russian state assets, as agreed upon at the G7 summit. This is stated in a press release from the German government.
The allies discussed Ukraine’s victory plan and “reaffirmed their determination to continue to support Ukraine in its efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on international law, including the UN Charter, and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
The leaders of the four states also discussed events in the Middle East, in particular, the impact of the death of militant Yahya Sinwar on the return of hostages home and on ending the war in the Gaza region and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to civilians.
They also once again condemned the escalation that resulted from Iran’s attack on Israel. It was decided to coordinate efforts to hold Tehran accountable and prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, the White House reported that the United States supports Zelensky’s victory plan. The corresponding statement was made by White House National Security Speaker John Kirby.
Apparently we are still looking at it in detail. Therefore, I am not going to go into detail on every single point. But I will say that, as we have made clear, we support President Zelensky’s plan for a just peace,” he said.
Let us recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting of the European Council in Brussels said that the third point of the peace plan presented provides for the location of a “containment package” on the territory of Ukraine. This package will either force Russia to participate in real peace negotiations or destroy their military goals. We are talking about a “corresponding package of missiles.”
