The occupiers noticed the railroad worker because of his comments on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
An FSB agent operating in the Dnepropetrovsk region received a life sentence in prison. The convicted is an employee of the local station Ukrzaliznytsia. The SBU press service reported this on Friday, October 18.
The official is preparing coordinates for Russian attacks on the region’s military and critical infrastructure. The enemy’s main target was the railway junctions used to transport heavy weapons and ammunition to the front lines.
The Russians are also interested in the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of Ukrainian troops involved in combat missions.
Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service exposed the traitor in the initial stages of his subversive activities and detained him in January.
According to the investigation, the 39-year-old railway worker came to the attention of the occupiers because of his comments on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels, where he approved Russia’s war against Ukraine.
After the remote recruitment, the agent contacted a career officer of the FSB, whose identity was established by the SBU. During the searches, a mobile phone with evidence of working for the enemy was confiscated from the traitor.
Based on materials from the Security Service, the court found him guilty of high treason committed under martial law and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
We remind you that the Russian agent operating in Volyn received 15 years in prison with confiscation of assets and removal of his military rank.
