At the Conference on Mine Action in Ukraine, the Swiss government handed over to the State Emergency Service the first of three specialized GCS 200 vehicles.
The press service of the State Emergency Service reported this today, October 18.
It is noted that by the end of this year Ukraine will receive another car from Swiss partners, and in 2025 – a third.
At the beginning of last year, there was not a single mechanized mine clearance vehicle in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Today, thanks to the support of international partners, 68 such units of equipment have already been transferred,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
The department notes that since the start of operation of these machines, the number of injuries to sappers has decreased by five times.
