The American leader recalled that Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans and citizens of more than 30 countries.
US President Joe Biden commented on the message about the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The corresponding statement was released by the White House press service on Thursday, October 17.
“This morning, Israeli authorities informed my national security team that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was likely killed during a mission they were conducting in Gaza. A DNA test confirmed that Sinwar was dead. It was a great day for Israel, for the United States and for the whole world,” his statement said.
Biden said that as the leader of Hamas, Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans and citizens from more than 30 countries.
“He was the mastermind behind the killings, rapes and kidnappings on October 7. It was on his orders that Hamas terrorists attacked Israel,” he added.
The US President is convinced that Israel has every right to remove the leadership and military structure of Hamas so that Hamas is no longer able to carry out another terrorist attack on October 7.
On Thursday, Israel officially confirmed the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Recall that Sinwar became the political leader of Hamas in early August. He replaced Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in late July in an attack on his residence in Tehran.
