A petition has appeared on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers, the author of which demands a ban on the broadcast of psychics and other representatives of pseudoscientific esoteric movements in the telethon and in news releases.

    .

The petition appeared on September 12. Its author was Natalya Yakovleva, and she has now collected almost 500 signatures out of 25 thousand required.

The text emphasizes that the United News telethon is financed from the state budget:

Therefore, it is unacceptable that for the money of Ukrainians they are successfully fed from television screens with outright pseudoscientific nonsense from psychics, who, moreover, manipulate the opinion of Ukrainian viewers regarding their “supernatural abilities”, misleading them.

According to the publication “Our Money”, from the beginning of the invasion until December 1, 2023, the state spent UAH 1.12 billion on the production of the marathon.

In the state budget for 2024, the government has allocated UAH 1.5 billion to finance the United News marathon.

In the draft state budget for 2025, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in mid-September, UAH 1.6 billion is expected for the telethon.
