Ukraine was once again under massive Russian attack on the night of October 16th. Air defense forces shot down two missiles and 51 enemy attack drones. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Telegram.
Russia attacked Ukraine tonight:
-
guided missile S-300/400 in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of the Donetsk region;
-
guided aircraft missile X-59 in the Chernigov region from the airspace of the Kursk region.

136 attacks by UAVs (launch area: Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk).
To repel the attack, the following were brought:

aviation;
-
anti-aircraft missile forces;
-
electronic warfare subsections;
-
mobile fire group of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
While repelling the attack, 51 enemy UAVs were shot down in Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovograd, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkov, Zhitomir, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernigov and Chernivtsi regions.
As a result of active countermeasures against electronic warfare (EW), about 60 Russian drones were lost in different regions of Ukraine.
Two enemy drones returned to the Russian Federation.
Currently, there are more than 20 UAVs in Ukrainian airspace. Combat work continues.
As we have already written, the Kiev region is being attacked by Russian “martyrs”. Air defense forces operate in the region.
