The company was found guilty of “failing to highlight information subject to deletion.” This is the seventh fine for Telegram in the Russian Federation since the beginning of the year.
Moscow’s Tagansky Court fined the Telegram messenger for refusing to remove “content prohibited in the Russian Federation.” This was reported by RosSMI on Tuesday, October 15.
“Telegram Messenger Inc. was found guilty of committing an administrative offense and was given an administrative penalty in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 4 million rubles,” the court said.
The company was found guilty of “failure to remove information subject to deletion.”
This is Telegram’s seventh fine since the beginning of the year for violating Russian laws.
We remind you that the largest Internet services – Google, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok – have repeatedly been held accountable in Russia for not removing “prohibited content.” Such cases, in particular, are related to the failure of companies to remove information about Russia’s war against Ukraine.
