At times of maximum consumption, the energy system remains short of power, energy workers recalled.
In Ukraine, electricity consumption began to increase against the backdrop of falling air temperatures. Ukrenergo reported this on Tuesday, October 15.
So, today the level of electricity consumption at 9:30 is 3% higher than at this time of the previous day – on Monday.
“Yesterday, October 14, the daily maximum consumption was recorded at night. It was 3.3% higher than the previous working day – Friday, October 11. The reason for this dynamic is a decrease in air temperature across Ukraine,” the report said.
Energy workers recalled that at times of maximum consumption, power shortages remain in the energy system. Therefore, they asked citizens to use powerful electrical appliances during the effective operation of solar power plants – from 10:00 to 16:00.
As of this morning, due to fighting and other reasons, 495 settlements have been completely or partially cut off from power.
“Due to the conflict, there are new power outages in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Nikolaev regions. For technical reasons, there are no electricity consumers in Sumy, Zaporozhye and Kiev regions,” the company said.
It was previously known that the government has created a headquarters that will deal with the issue of preparing the regions for the heating season.
It was also reported that Ukrenergo has accumulated three times the stock of repair equipment in preparation for winter compared to the norm.
