North Korea has blown up sections of its roads connecting it to South Korea.
This was reported today, October 15, by the South Korean agency Yonhap, citing the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.
North Korea blew up parts of the Gyeonggi and Donghae roads north of the military demarcation line around noon, the OKS said.
The South Korean military said it had stepped up surveillance and preparedness.
Last week, the North Korean military announced a plan to “completely separate” North Korean territory from South Korea, saying it had briefed the U.S. military about the move to “prevent any misjudgment and accidental conflict.”
The two Koreas are connected by road and rail along the Gyeonggi Line, which connects the western South Korean border city of Paju with North Korea’s Kaesong, and the Donghae Line along the eastern coast.
