Mark Rutte, during his first visit to the headquarters of the Ukrainian mission in Germany, presented the message of the Alliance to the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
New NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte made his first visit to Wiesbaden, Germany, where the Alliance’s security and military training initiative for Ukraine is based. Reuters reported this on Monday, October 14.
It was learned that Rutte made a speech to headquarters staff representing more than ten member countries of the bloc. The official emphasized that NATO “is the most powerful military alliance in history, which cares about the safety of a billion people and is ready to fight any threat.”
According to the General Secretary of the Alliance, “we will never be intimidated by our enemies, and Putin has only one message: we will do everything to ensure that his plan fails and Ukraine wins.”
Rutte also recalled that NATO “is a defensive bloc and is not intended to attack anyone.” Thus, he refuted the accusations of the Kremlin about sending long-range missiles to Germany from the United States, which will also be based in Wiesbaden.
As you know, on October 1, former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte became the new Secretary General of NATO, replacing Jens Stoltenderg in this post. He immediately said that Ukraine will remain a priority in his work.
