The sanctions target officials in Iran’s army, Iran’s air force and organizations associated with missile development.
The UK announced sanctions against Iranian individuals and entities linked to the missile program following Iran’s attack on Israel earlier this month. This was reported by the press service of the British government on Monday, October 14.
The sanctions target seven officials from Iran’s army, air force and two organizations involved in developing ballistic and cruise missiles.
These are, in particular, the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi, the commander of the Iranian Air Force Hamid Vahedi and the commander of the intelligence department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Kazemi.
The Iranian Space Agency is also subject to British restrictions.
Let’s recall that on the night of October 1, Iran launched a missile attack on Israel in response to the IDF’s killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The Israeli military said about 180 rockets were fired, most of which were intercepted.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the attack a “big mistake” and Iran promised to pay for it.
